A. They are closed, due to the Hurricanes of 2004 they have never re-opened
- Q. Do they serve food?
A. No, just bagged chips. But they don't mind if you order pizza or
bring something from a local take-out.
- Q. Is there a dress code?
A. No, but many of the regular male patrons favor Hawaiian shirts;
the bartenders always wear them. Ladies, when choosing your ensemble for an
evening at the Big Bamboo, you should be aware that there's no air
conditioning, other than the open door and a friendly breeze!
- Q. What kind of music is played there?
A. Mostly swing, early jazz. Count Basie, Cab Calloway, Frank
Sinatra. There's also a splattering of reggae, rockabilly and 50's rock and
roll.
- Q. Do they take credit cards?
A. No, the Big Bamboo is a cash-only bar. No debit cards, no checks,
no credit cards. So make sure you go to the ATM first if you plan to stay
awhile!
